
As an award-winning, nationally recognized interior designer, JD was drawn to visiting this famous landmark during her trip to Spain. This modernist masterpiece and museum have undergone several refurbishments, rebuildings, and redesigns. The roof of the building is said to honor the Legend of St. George as he pierced the back of the dragon with his sword. This gallery is a collection from JD’s trip through this amazing structure.
Courtyard patio decorated in trencadis glass The Legend of St. George was an inspiration to many artists. Gaudi staged it in the architecture of Casa Batllo. One spot is the roof, where the dragon comes alive in the scaled ceramic tiles. Loved all the mosaics and irregular shaped windows! Toured this home and was fascinated by his imagination, especially how the details of the home mimic nature and animals.
